Underpinner Wedges - Which type should I use ? ?
There are two different types of wedges (or V-nails)
- Universal Type
- Alfa Type
All Charnwood & Framers Corner underpinners use Universal Type. There are Universal type wedges for using with soft woods and Universal type for using with hard woods, both will work fine. Most people in the UK only ever use the softwood type.
The other type of wedge is known as Alfa type. These are only used by the Minigraf range of underpinners, manufactured by Alfamachine. They are a slightly different width and do not work in our underpinners.
